Mr Ch’ng has a wide experience in the medical and surgical treatment of general eye conditions, retinal and macular diseases such as retinal detachment, macular hole, epiretinal membrane, age-related macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusions and diabetic retinopathy.
Mr Ch’ng graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2006 and has completed his ophthalmology (eye) specialty training in Wales and East Midlands (Leicester), England. He went on to complete one year of research fellowship in medical and vitreoretinal surgery in Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, England. His research work include the development of a new hypersonic vitrectomy for retinal surgery and retinal implants. He has also completed a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery in Birmingham Midlands Eye Centre, England to further develop his experience in managing retinal conditions such as retinal detachment, macular hole and epiretinal membrane surgery and serious ocular conditions such as endophthalmitis and penetrating eye injuries.
Mr Ch’ng currently works as a locum consultant ophthalmologist with a specialist interest in vitreoretinal surgery and primary care at the University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.
